About Me
Hiya! I'm Solly (it|she)1. I'm a software engineer & open-sourceress. I enjoy working on API design & libraries, programming languages, distributed systems, and general web stuff.
In my free time, I dive, play TTRPGs & a whole lot of Destiny 2, cook, do nail art, and start personal projects and then get distracted. I've also been known to build keyboards & computers (budget permitting 😉).
Work-wise, I'm currently figuring out how to ship bits around at Fastly.
In the past, I've:
-
Lead an effort to create an IDE-style experience for Fuchsia development.
-
Co-created and lead the KubeBuilder Project, the Kubernetes extension SDK
-
Lead Kubernetes SIG Autoscaling and hacked on Kubernetes metrics.
-
Dabbled in various and sundry other parts of Kubernetes
-
Maintained noVNC, the HTML5 VNC client
-
Authored python-gssapi and friends, Python bindings for RFC 2743 and more.
-
Worked on OpenStack Nova
I also have a formal-ish résumé-shaped thing, if that's more your style.

Curious about it/its pronouns? Everyone has different reasons, but for me, it/its represents a mix of reclaiming dehumanization, not feeling entirely human, and not feeling entirely like a person. If you know me in any particular capacity 2, I'm always happy to chat about it in more detail. An adjacent perspective is written about in "On Inhumanity". It's not my perspective exactly, but it's similar.
e.g. friend or acquaintance (irl or online), social media mutual, or a-couple-degrees-of-kevin-bacon away from either of those.
